Township Clerk
Mike Miller
Mike carries a surety bond and is charged with the safekeeping of Clark Township's correspondence, records, books and papers. He documents all monies disbursed by the township according the the Uniform Chart of Accounts, as prescribed by the state treasurer. Mike also prepares and maintains the journals and ledgers reflecting Clark Township's assets, liabilities, fund equities, revenues and expenditures for each fund.
I am pleased to announce that the Clark Township Board of Trustees has approved a cemetery 209 fund. This means that anyone can donate to this fund, even by way of their will, and these funds can only be used for the cemeteries
Funds in a 200 account can be carried over from year to year, and can be earmarked for specific reasons. These funds are not used for routine maintenance and upkeep, that would still come from the General Fund.
I encourage everyone to spread the word about this and to donate if possible. You could also designate donations to this fund when a loved one passes away. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. |

As Township Clerk, Mike is responsible for elections, and 3 cemeteries, in addition to all payroll and receiving special events applications and reservations for the Community Center. Additionally, Mike maintains meeting minutes, records of township contracts, resolutions, ordinances and other special proceedings and activities.
As Clark Township Clerk, Mike has access to the Michigan Townships Association (MTA), a statewide non-profit professional organization dedicated to providing education, legal advice, and a unified voice for Michigan's township government.
Mike Miller is also a member of MAMC, the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks, which is a great resource for information related to the Clerks duties.
